KTM Adventure Motorcycles

KTM began life as a metalworking company in 1934. It was not until 1953 that KTM began producing motorcyles.  Most of the components of their motorcycles were built in house until 1992 when the company was forced to split into 3 separate parts due to insolvency.

Since the motorcycle division became independent, they have formed outside partnerships and grown dramatically.  By 2005, they were delivering 80,000 units per year.

KTM has been known mostly as an off road motorcycle producer.  The past few years have seen them evolve into the dual sport and adventure category.  They are now offering several street only motorcycles.  In partnership with Polaris, they are also producing a line of ATV's.
