Going to...

Most everyone has a "bucket list".  You know, things you are going to do before you kick the bucket.  Two items on mine are a cross country motorcycle trip and a trip on the Trans America Trail.(transamericatrail.com )  As I entered my 55th year, I realized that at some point my mind will make commitments that my body cannot keep.  I may in fact have reached that point with the TAT.  That is not going to stop me from trying.  I am going to ride the first two states in September.  The timing is not perfect.  If I wait for the perfect time, I will never go.  I made the decision in January and like magic, the bike I wanted showed up.  I took it as a sign.  So as my body, my finances and the world in general fall apart, I am preparing to ride hundreds of miles on dirt roads by myself.  Why do we do these things?  If you have the answer, let me know.
